Col. Maryanne Miller, commander of the 349th Air Mobility Wing, administers the oath of enlistment to new Air Force Reserve recruits Oct. 1, 2008 at Travis Air Force Base, Calif. After basic training and technical school, the new Reservists will serve part-time at Travis AFB, supporting C-17 Globemaster III, C-5 Galaxy, and KC-10 Extender missions, or at Beale AFB, supporting RQ-4 Global Hawk and intelligence missions. The oath of enlistment is as follows: I, (state your full name), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. (So help me God.)
