For fans of the Dominoe story, on my trip through Baltimore I looked for and found the apartment I was living in back in 1986 when I adopted her. There is another story not told as often. We had a neighbor, a "dude" who claimed he was a Vietnam Vet (I thought he was too young) who would tool around the parking lot with his loud motorcycle. Dominoe, my adopted dalmation, and Casey, Kevins black lab, would bark a lot from our lower level apartment. One day, one of our neighbors told us she saw them barking at the "Dude" who was going to the window, taunting them, and muttering things about wanting to cut them with his knife. I was furious. No one f*****s with my dogs. I waited one day and saw him leave with another guy, I walked out to his prize motorcycle, and whacked the gas tank countless times with my geology pick. I then ran inside. This guy was big. When he returned, it was obvious as he was scremaing about "who is the M****F***er who bashed his bike". He came to our door and asked if we had seen anything. With the best poker face I could muster, I said, "no, bit I just got back" and "Wow, that really sucks. What kind of asshole would destroy your bike?" He shrugged and then mutter something about how cool our dogs were. That was one of the stupider things I did. But no regrets. The fire department ended up coming out to hose off the spilled gasoline.
